Then take red and outline the minium
and the purple color, both all around, with a brush, and draw a double
vein into the middle of the foliage, as it is shown here.
Then take again the dark red and thin it properly with pure gum water, just as the light red, as described above, and paint both the colors with it and shade them, as shown here.
Then take again the dark red and shade the light red with it, as it is described above, as shown here.
Then heighten the purple with lead white and heighten the minium with lead yellow, as is shown here.
